PHOTOSHOOT READY:LAMIL DESIGNS













LaToya M. Stephens
LaToya Stephens began her passion for fashion when she was 16 years old. Her inspiration bloomed when she took an art class that who drove her to bring out the best of her creativity in art. LaToya received her first project designing a prom dress for a friend that really loved and believed in her art, after finishing high school, she decided to enroll in the Art Institute of Philadelphia to pursue her education in fashion design and Minor in Art History. While in school Latoya Interned at local boutiques in the Philadelphia area, while interning she worked with up and coming artists such as rappers Doe Starz. LaToya was the head stylist for the NET clothing store fashion show in 2003 in Center City Philadelphia, along with many others throughout the city. In June of 2003, Latoya decided to further her career in fashion and moved to one of the hottest cities in the south, Atlanta.




Latoya got her first styling gig in Atlanta, doing an Apple Bottom photo shoot working with one of the top photographers in the city, JAS photo, and soon became the creative fashion director of all the photo shoots for JAS photography. She took on projects working with top make-up artist Jennifer Holmes of J.MONT Cosmetics and J.MONT Studio.










Through networking, LaToya began to style up and coming artist such as Darien Brockington, and Dawn McClain. She wanted to gain more knowledge about business and went to Atlanta Technical College for Small business Management and later received her degree in Business management. After receiving her degree she began freelancing with some of the top designers in the South, Cotrice Collection, Jadez Boutique, and Couture Inspirations. After gaining all the experience she learned, LaToya decided to start her own company Lamil designs, where she styles top corporate professionals, artist, and women who want a whole new look. A Lamil design speaks to a lot of corporate, schools, and churches on wardrobe and image. Lamil designs is a place where you find “The Creativity of Effervescence”.
